Alongside a team of readers led by the Poetry Editor, I discussed and recommended poems from a group of submissions for the debut issue of Unwoven.
As a member of the acquisition editorial team for Allium, I evaluated solicited and unsolicited manuscripts from poets for inclusion in the magazine.
As a reporter and editorial assistant, I covered feature and regional stories and reported on local education issues and two school districts. I also edited school, religion, and art event listings and copy-edited on deadline each week. Using a content management system and SEO techniques, I published stories and photos to the publication's website.
As Co-Editor-in-Chief, I managed a staff of 20 peer colleagues. I led beginning-of-semester training sessions on AP-style news writing and reporting for new staff members, supervised the editing and production of the weekly print and online publication, and planned and executed a project to find a new printing partner and redesign the publication.
